This course introduces students to advanced and emerging food packaging technologies designed to improve food safety, extend shelf life, and support sustainable food systems. It covers innovative packaging materials, smart and intelligent packaging, active packaging, biodegradable and edible packaging, nanotechnology applications, and modern packaging methods used in the food industry. The course also explores current research, industry trends, regulatory considerations, and the role of novel packaging in reducing food waste while maintaining product quality and consumer safety.
